Giving Back with Gratitude

At First Light Wealth Advisors, we believe success comes full circle—especially when it begins with giving back.

On June 4^th, James Kozik, AIF®, co-founder of First Light Wealth Advisors and proud 2005 graduate of Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business, returned to campus as a featured guest presenter at the university’s “Get Hired” Bootcamp. The program, designed to equip first-time job seekers and mid-career changers with tools to confidently step into the job market, offered timely advice in a rapidly evolving employment landscape.

James’s session, titled “Stand Out Early: Personal Branding,” reflected both his passion for mentorship and the values that shape his leadership at First Light. His message to students was simple, but powerful: Your brand is built not with a logo or a tagline, but with the choices you make every day—how you show up, follow through, and treat others.

Drawing on 17 years of experience in the wealth management industry, James walked attendees through how to translate their personal values and work ethic into a brand that employers can trust. From crafting an authentic elevator pitch to embracing strengths and owning one’s unique contributions, his advice resonated deeply with those preparing to launch—or relaunch—their careers.

“Be the person others trust to get things done,” James shared. “That’s your brand.”

The workshop served as a meaningful way for James to reconnect with the Stillman community and to inspire the next generation of professionals to lead with intention, dependability, and heart.
